Multi million pound contract from Farrans the main contractor on the new transport hub being built for Translink in Belfast to install suspended ceilings in the bus and train halls. The transport hub has been called Grand Central Station.

We started work in the summer of 2023 and completed the work on time and within budget in August 2024.

We are proud to have been awarded a multi-million-pound contract by Farrans, the principal contractor, for the prestigious new Grand Central Station transport hub in Belfast. This state-of-the-art facility, commissioned by Translink, is set to transform public transport in Northern Ireland, serving as a vital connection point for both bus and train services. As part of this groundbreaking project, our company was entrusted with the design and installation of suspended ceilings in the bus and train halls.

Scope of Work
Our work on the Grand Central Station project involved the installation of advanced suspended ceiling systems throughout the expansive bus and train halls. These ceilings were designed not only to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the spaces but also to meet the highest standards of acoustic performance, fire safety, and durability. Given the hub’s role as a central transit point expected to accommodate millions of passengers annually, it was crucial that the ceilings were installed with precision and care to withstand the rigors of heavy daily use.

Project Timeline
The project commenced in the summer of 2023, with our team mobilising on-site to begin the intricate process of ceiling installation. Despite the challenges inherent in working within a bustling construction environment, our experienced team worked diligently to adhere to the project’s timeline. We coordinated closely with Farrans and other subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of our work with the overall construction activities.

Successful Completion
We are pleased to announce that our work was completed on time and within the agreed budget by August 2024. This successful delivery is a testament to our team’s expertise, commitment, and attention to detail. The ceilings we installed contribute to the modern, inviting atmosphere of the Grand Central Station, ensuring a pleasant experience for all who pass through its halls.
